Good morning Kendall! What did you order from the CybelAngel Café today?
A black coffee with a splash of oat milk! In high school I used to work as a barista, so you would expect a fancy drink but I like to keep things simple.
A simple coffee in the morning is the perfect way to start your day. Can you tell us more about your role as a Sales Development Representative at CybelAngel?
As a sales development representative, I am a member of the sales team. I have the opportunity each day to communicate and connect with CybelAngel clients and potential clients.
What does a typical day at work look like for you?
I start each morning with account research. I’ve found that if I start my morning this way, my afternoon call-blocks (time set aside for outbound calls) are more productive and successful. During my account research, I look at different prospects via LinkedIn and catch up on anything I may have missed in the news. In the afternoon I make prospect calls and sort through any emails. My favorite days are the ones where the sales team participates in discussion-based meetings.
That sounds like a busy day!
It can be packed but that’s what I enjoy about my job. I am constantly learning new things in a collaborative environment.
Why did you choose to work at CybelAngel?
Startup companies have always fascinated me, things are always changing and you are never stuck in one place. I’m someone who thrives on change. It’s so exciting to me that everyone here is always looking for new ways to solve problems. Everyone at CybelAngel has an energy you can feel, the people here are incredibly creative and the spirit of innovation is contagious.
That is so true. What have been some of your favorite experiences here at CybelAngel?
There have been many opportunities because of the tight-knit nature of the company. I get to work with each team on a daily basis. Each team brings a new perspective to the table and in my role, I am able to incorporate this which helps to get a broader look at our goals. I believe this opportunity is so rare in the post-grad world, and I am grateful to work at a company that prioritizes collaboration. I am thankful for the opportunity to work so closely with my account executive, Tyler. He has so much knowledge about the world of cyber and I am constantly learning new things from him. I appreciate his advice and constructive feedback.
Is there any advice you would give to others?
I would say, don’t get too stuck on a plan. I know that isn’t always optimistic but over the past year there has been a lot of uncertainty. I think when you have a set plan, you can be blinded by what you want and miss out on opportunities in front of you. When you’re more open-minded you have more freedom to go after what you want.
That is great advice. And so much easier said than done for those of us who are natural planners! Is there anyone in your life who you feel really demonstrates that flexibility?
As a business leader, my mom has always been open to learning and questioning. She’s always adapting to keep moving forward, make progress, and never get stagnant. It’s really inspiring to watch and I try to incorporate that outlook on life in my own professional life.
She sounds like a great role model. Speaking of moving forward, what are you excited about for the future of CybelAngel?
I’m really excited to see our brand grow. We are constantly growing our team and with that comes new ideas and new ways to expand who we are as a company. I’m excited to see what the brand team has in store for the future. I love seeing how they craft messages and present them to a large audience. In college I studied creative writing and I loved being able to tell a story to others.
There are so many exciting things in store for the future of CybelAngel! Thank you Kendall for joining us in the CybelAngel Café! We at CybelAngel and our customers are so fortunate to have you on the team!
