Bonjour David! What did you order from the CybelAngel Café today?

A coffee, no cream, no sugar.

Can you tell us more about your role leading threat investigations at CybelAngel?

Sure, basically it’s my job to investigate incidents that our customers may have. I am also in charge of training CybelAngel’s team of analysts through seminars where I am able to share my knowledge of the dark web and help build upon their skills.

That is a pivotal role for both CybelAngel and our customers. What first sparked your interest in the world of cyber?

Growing up as a kid in the 90’s, computers were almost magical. I liked how computers could be customized, fixed, and there is always more to learn. I studied literature in school and I wanted to be a French teacher for as long as I can remember, but my curiosity brought me into the cyber world and helped me to cultivate a true passion for it. I wholeheartedly believe the more you dive into your passions, the more you can create a life surrounded by what you love.

Exploring what makes you curious is so important, especially with one of CybelAngel’s core cultural values being “Be Curious.” Why did you choose to explore your curiosity at CybelAngel?

When I joined CybelAngel back in 2016, I was employee number 20. It meant alot to me to join a French startup. When I interviewed at CybelAngel I could see there was no limit on growth. This was exactly what I was looking for- a place to dive into my passion and a once in a lifetime chance to build something from the ground up. In the future I would like to see CybelAngel grow to be a key player in the industry with offices across the globe.

It must be exciting to see CybelAngel on the way to achieving that, with offices in Paris, London, Berlin, and New York city. What does a typical day at CybelAngel look like for you?

There is no such thing as a typical day for me, to be completely honest, but this is something I love about my job. I always begin my day with a cup of coffee (of course!) and then I review my trusted sources to see what has happened overnight in the world of IT. Depending on what’s going on in the world, some days this can take longer than others. I am never bored at work, I love that our world is constantly changing and there is no true routine.

It’s great you’re staying on top of the latest industry happenings. During your time at CybelAngel have you been presented with any opportunities you never thought of previously?

Wow, yes! CybelAngel has given me countless opportunities, time and time again. Every project I have worked on, I’ve been encouraged to develop further and really explore deeply into what made me curious. CybelAngel has given me the space to let me grow and learn each and every day.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Is there any advice you want to give to others?

Absolutely! I would say to everyone to explore their curiosity. Go beyond what you know, search for a new perspective, and learn all sides to topics. By no means is this always an easy thing to do, but it will challenge you to grow.

That is great advice. Thank you David for joining us in the CybelAngel Café! We at CybelAngel and our customers are so fortunate to have you on the team!
