2022 Mid-Year Review: Product Release Notes

By CybelAngel Wed Jul 13, 2022

Hello there! Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2022? As we hit this critical midpoint, we are excited to share some of the product enhancements we’ve been working on.

Let’s jump into the innovation you’ve inspired so far…

Get a Clue 🔎 Better Attribution of Unknown Assets

We’ve upped the ante on our Asset Discovery and Monitoring module with the ability to confirm attribution by leveraging information available in SSL certificates.

Since launching this enhancement, an additional 30% of certificate related alerts have been forwarded to customers, providing you with valuable threat attribution clues for increased external attack surface management.

It’s [Not] Ok to Be Sensitive 🔒 Improved Database Detection

By broadening our scanning scope, you’re given the most comprehensive view of your digital footprint, meaning more visibility and less vulnerability. Who wouldn’t want that?

We are now scanning more datasets than ever before to uncover your sensitive content exposed on open databases. With this capability, your critical information (such as PII data and important credentials) is better protected against breaches and account takeovers.

Noise Canceling Smart Filters 🎧 Machine Learning Alert Model

Greater surface scanning calls for a more refined filtering system. Thankfully, our newly-implemented Machine Learning model now automatically discards 55% of alert noise.

While our smart filters keep out the riff-raff, your analyst can better assist you by focusing on strategic Incident Report alerts. This decreases the time-to-alert which in turn means increased time for response and remediation.

Achieve System Harmony 🎶 CybelAngel Connect

By enabling integrations with 1000s of tools, CybelAngel Connect is the ultimate tech maestro. It will bring sweet harmony to the cacophony of systems in your tool stack. With it, you can:

  • Build recipes that send internal communications via Slack, Microsoft Teams, GChat and more.
  • Synchronize CybelAngel alerts with your ticketing system like ServiceNow and Jira (among others).
  • Automate password changes whenever leaked credentials are detected.
  • Streamline domain protection by automatically blacklisting domains in your firewall as soon as they are flagged.

With Connect, you’ll achieve better cross-functional communication, increased efficiency, quality data & faster time to remediation. Doesn’t that sound lovely?

What’s Your Status? ☑️ More Accurate Status Reporting

Cybersecurity gets complicated, but your workflows don’t have to be.

You can now set reports as open, in progress, resolved, discarded. What does that mean for you? Less confusion, cleaner views, easier workflows for your team, and a new way to report when you get the job done.

Plus, let’s be honest, there’s just something so gratifying about marking a report as “resolved.”

Gain “Root-Cause” Insights 🤔 Credential Leakage Origin

As the most highly sought-after data type, hackers LOVE exposed credentials. A reported 61% of breaches involved credentials, and the use of stolen credentials was present in 25% of breaches last year.*

It’s time to cut off credential leaks at the root.

We are the only vendor providing you with the IP address, hostname, and localization of open databases leaking your credentials.

You can now:

  • Act immediately: Access the origin of the leakage directly from your Incident Report.
  • Outspeed Attackers: Secure exposed credentials before they are weaponized.

We’re with you all the way to the finish line

These are just some of the things we’ve been hard at work here in the CybelAngel labs. We look forward to bringing you even more exciting new capabilities (*wink, wink* Asset Discovery & Monitoring upgrades) in the second half of this banner year.

In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to your dedicated analyst with feedback or to learn more about any of these enhancements! Stay safe out there.
